The Special Projects Manager, IT, reports directly to the CIO. The Special Project Manager, IT, is responsible for managing all aspects of designated large-scale technology initiatives. This position requires that the Special Project Manager be able to proactively identify technology-centric opportunities for business process improvement; be a creative problem-solver with a keen eye for detail; as well as have experience with technology project and process management. This position will be responsible for researching, developing, and implementing related best practices to support business application and system enhancement. They will also be responsible for serving as an as internal consultant and project manager relative to continuous improvement initiatives.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
SUPERVISION
Position functions with supervision and has no direct reports.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Information Systems/Information Technology or equivalent and 5-8 years of experience. Minimum of 4000 hours of experience in leading projects. Agile development project management experience desired. Prior experience working in the transportation /freight movement industry desired. Experience in project management principles in support of large IT projects helpful. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
PMP certification preferred.
TRAVEL
Minimal travel may be required.
