Responsibilities

The Manager, Enterprise Business Systems is responsible for the ongoing enhancement, support and maintenance of the company’s enterprise system landscape—centered around Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and its associated ecosystem of middleware, data pipelines, and system integrations with a variety of Customer Management, Transportation Management and Warehouse Management systems.

This role ensures the ERP platform and its connected technologies run efficiently, align with evolving business needs, and support end-to-end operational workflows. The position serves as the internal owner of the ERP system and its integrations, partnering across Finance, Operations, and Technology teams to sustain and improve business-critical systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the subject matter expert on D365 Business Central and its role within the broader technology ecosystem, including integrations with CRM platforms, transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and other operational tools.
  • Manage and optimize the integration architecture that connects D365 Business Central to external and internal systems—ensuring performance, consistency, and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Lead the integration of new operating systems into the ERP environment, ensuring they are brought into the ecosystem using standardized practices for data flow, architecture, and governance.
  • Serve as the manager for both internal technical team members and third-party vendors or partners, ensuring alignment, accountability, and collaboration across all ERP and integration-related initiatives.
  • Responsible for ensuring resource allocation and utilization—across internal staff and third-party partners—are aligned with support priorities, enhancement work, and system objectives.
  • Act as the primary escalation point and champion for ERP- and integration-related support issues—ensuring timely resolution, root cause analysis, and process improvements.
  • Maintain and enforce user permission and access management standards for the ERP and associated systems, in alignment with company security policies and audit requirements.
  • Own and maintain training documentation, onboarding resources, and support materials for new Accounting and Finance team members and other ERP users.
  • Drive adoption and champion the rollout of new features, updates, and functionality within the ERP and integrated platforms—ensuring business readiness and user engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance, Operations, and Technology teams to continuously improve ERP workflows, reporting capabilities, and data quality across the organization.
  • Monitor and manage the ERP enhancement queues, balancing day-to-day support with strategic improvements and small and large-scale feature deployments.
  • Partner with Infrastructure and Cybersecurity teams to ensure ERP-related systems are secure, compliant, and operating within approved access and data handling protocols.
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to understand and manage complex, interconnected platforms across ERP, CRM, transportation, and warehouse systems.
  • Excellent project management and prioritization skills, with the ability to balance support, enhancements, and long-term system evolution.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders—translating complex issues into actionable insights.
  • Leadership and team management experience, including oversight of internal technical staff and third-party vendor relationships.
  • Skilled in resource planning and utilization management, ensuring the right team members and partners are aligned to the right priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving and escalation management skills; comfortable owning system issues from identification through resolution.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, dynamic environments with competing deadlines and shifting priorities.
  • Experience developing and maintaining training documentation, SOPs, and onboarding resources for technical platforms and business applications.
  • Familiarity with data integrity principles, permission management, and compliance standards related to enterprise systems.
  • Ability to champion change, promote user adoption, and lead rollout strategies for new features or process enhancements.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with D365 Business Central post-implementation support, configuration, and enhancement.
  • Familiarity with CRM , TMS, WMS platforms.
  • Experience managing middleware tools including Microsoft Power Platform or similar.
  • Background in finance or accounting workflows and terminology.
  • Prior experience managing vendor relationships and third-party development teams.
  • Knowledge of ERP security models, permission management, and audit-readiness processes.
  • Experience working in an organization undergoing digital transformation or system modernization.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Technology, Computer Science, Accounting, or related field required; Master’s degree a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience working with ERP systems, including post-implementation support, enhancement cycles, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • 5+ years in a team or vendor management capacity, with proven experience allocating resources and managing competing priorities.
  • Hands-on experience supporting or managing D365 Business Central or a similar mid-market ERP system.
  • Experience integrating ERP with financial systems, operational tools, and third-party applications.
  • Familiarity with enterprise system support models, IT change control processes, and user training development.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
  • Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate.
