Responsibilities

The HR Project Coordinator is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing HR projects.

• Coordinating and planning HR projects, such as talent acquisition, compensation, job descriptions, affirmative action compliance, worker’s compensation, and various audits.
• Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information.
• Liaise with Vice President, Human Resources and Chief Legal Officer to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives.
• Tracking project progress, identifying issues and solutions, and managing project timelines and budgets.
• Collaborating with other departments as needed to integrate HR projects and ensure they align with the company’s goals and objectives.
• Communicating regularly with the Vice President, Human Resources and team members to ensure project tasks are on track and deadlines are met.
• Assisting with the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
• Preparing and presenting reports on the status of HR projects to senior management.
• Follow all guidelines for Affirmative Action compliance.
• Help plan and coordinate community outreach and company functions when requested.
• Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step action plans.• Strong teamwork skills.
• Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.

• Ability to research information and problem solve. 
• Hands-on experience with project management tools.
• Must possess strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications.
• Proven competence to communicate clearly and persuasively with all levels of an organization required.

• Must possess a thorough understanding of and experience in working with government agencies, regulations and laws (FMLA, OFCCP, FLSA, EEOC, DOL, OHSA, NLRB, etc.).
• Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
• Ability to read and interpret complex business and/or technical documents.
• Ability to write comprehensive reports and detailed business correspondence.
• Ability to work with groups of people such as other departments and communicate known concepts.
• Ability to present to a group of departments.
• Ability to solve problems with a variety of concrete variables through semi-standardized solutions that require some ingenuity and analysis.
• Ability to draw inferences and follow prescribed and detailed procedures to solve moderately complex problems.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

SUPERVISION

Position functions semi-autonomously and has no direct reports.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in HR or related field plus 3-5 years of proven work experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.  

 

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

PMP preferred.

 

TRAVEL

Periodic travel up to 10% required.
