Responsibilities

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is responsible for identifying, researching, qualifying, and contacting potential sales targets. To accomplish this, the SDR will use sales & marketing campaigns, internal and external lead sources, and collaborating with the EFW sales team with the goal of providing qualified sales leads to the sales team that result in new business.

 

This position offers an opportunity to those with less experience to begin a career in the logistics industry, with the potential for professional growth through our Inside and Outside sales departments.

  • Utilize online and internal company resources to create lead lists.
  • Use of Microsoft Excel and other tools to filter and sort leads.
  • Utilize ZoomInfo or similar research platforms to enhance customer information to support the sales process.
  • Identify, research, and qualify potential leads using criteria developed in conjunction with the Manager, Inside Sales.
  • Perform cold outreach via phone, e-mail, and social channels to potential sales targets.
  • Engage and nurture potential leads through a series of communications to understand their needs and qualify their interest.
  • Utilize CRM system to record prospecting activity and notes from prospect conversations, as well as for managing workflow.
  • Arrange meetings to introduce qualified sales leads to members of the sales team.
  • Collaborate with all Sales organization efforts.
  • Collaborate with Marketing team on sales campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Sales Administrator on CRM data entry and customer information management.
  • Develop and maintain functional knowledge of EFW’s service capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, industry news, and competitor details and incorporate this information into outreach content and prospect conversations.
  • Participate in developmental classes or training sessions as defined by management.
  • Meet expectations, metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) as defined by management.
  • Regular attendance (remote) is required.
  • Comply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, internet, web-based, and job specific software applications.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other organizations, and the public.
  • Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships to accomplish work goals; develop individual relationships by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating others' efforts.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage tasks and set priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including diplomacy and patience.
  • Ability to set, pursue, and attain goals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and work independently with little or no supervision to achieve positive results.
  • Ability to draft comprehensive reports and professional business correspondence.
  • Ability to work with groups of people such as other departments and communicate known concepts concisely.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check.

SUPERVISION

Position functions with supervision and has no direct reports.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum of a High School Diploma (or equivalent). 0-2 years of sales, administrative, or logistics experience preferred.  However, a combination of experience and/or education will also be taken into consideration.
